I work with a lot of people who need to use data in their jobs but aren't data experts. They often work at non-profits that are too small to have a data team or even a full-time analyst. I love supporting these non-profit superheros, so I'm always on the lookout for accessible resources to help them feel more confident using data.
One of my recent favorites is Steve Wexler's book The Big Picture. It's a quick read with tons of examples and a good sense of humor about data. It's a very approachable resource for anyone who wants to create more effective visualizations -- even if data isn't your main thing. I know it has already become one of my go-to data viz books!
I'm looking forward to sharing more of my favorite accessible resources in 2022. In the meantime, I'd love to hear from other data practitioners. Do you have any favorite resources for folks who aren't data experts?
