My data journey began in 2013 when I worked for a non-profit car sharing program in Minneapolis & St. Paul. As operations and program manager, I did everything from recruiting board members to jump-starting cars in twenty below weather. I even had the opportunity to serve as president of the board of the International car sharing Association. It was intense and challenging, and I loved it!
But, one thing really bothered me. We had masses of data, and all of it was sitting unused. Our small team simply did not have the skills to do anything meaningful with our data. Out of sheer stubbornness, I started teaching myself data analysis. My first efforts were hopelessly clumsy, but I loved the conversations they sparked with my team. I was hooked!
In 2017, after nearly 10 years in the nonprofit world, I transitioned to the tech industry in Boston. Over the course of 3 years, I led data-driven teams at two tech startups. Working in the fast-paced tech world was a huge change (to say the least), but I learned a lot about leadership, data and technology.
In 2021 I came full circle. After providing ad hoc data support to nonprofits for a few years, I took the plunge into supporting non-profits full-time. Coming back to the nonprofit world truly felt like coming home! I love that I get to use all my experience in the nonprofit and tech worlds to help community organizations grow and thrive.
I believe that all organizations, even small ones, deserve powerful data tools. What’s more, data analysis should make work easier, not add to the overwhelm.
Too often, analytics are complex, expensive and don’t meet the needs of small organizations. When dashboards and reports are available, they may take too much work to update or don’t give you insights you can act on. It doesn’t have to be this way!
Yes, Analytics can be actionable, empowering and even fun! To achieve this, I build analytical tools that meet you where you are. I start by learning about your organization’s unique mission, goals and challenges. I spend time getting to know your team members and the software you already use. Then, I create rightsized tools that are simple to use and perfectly tailored to your goals and your team. I strive to build tools you are excited to use every day!

"As a small non-profit we were able to expand our bandwidth regarding data collection and outcomes reporting by working with Megan on our data analytics project.
Megan took the time to learn about our organization, specifically the new program we recently launched for teens facing suspension on Cape Cod. She expertly guided us in creating the framework for a database to track metrics for the program that will enable us to send weekly, monthly, and yearly reports to the participating school districts.
Megan is brilliant professional who is delightful to work with. She is an excellent teacher and very knowledgeable about all things data analytics. Whomever engages her services will be extremely satisfied with her work. Her attention to detail, dedication to the project and understanding of how best to move the project forward was exceptional. "Megan was a joy to work with! She is a true spreadsheet master, and we would recommend her for any data needs you have. She took time to really listen to our needs and work through a solution that will work for years to come. She's easy to talk to and explains the work in ways we can understand while teaching us little tricks along the way. We hope everyone on gets a chance to work with Megan"
